6 | Prairie/Roger Williams Park Zoo

Route 6 will not serve the Zoo’s entrance beginning June 1, 2020 until further notice. Passengers will be picked up and dropped off at the bus stops on Hawthorne Ave. near the tennis courts.

22 | Pontiac Ave

RIPTA will detour Route 22 (Pontiac Avenue) to accommodate the emergency closing of the Reservoir Avenue Bridge in Providence, Rhode Island until further notice. Route 22 will not serve bus stops on Reservoir Avenue between Narragansett Avenue and Elmwood Avenue. 

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Reservoir Avenue, right onto Narragansett Ave., left onto Roger Williams Avenue, left onto Elmwood Avenue and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Reservoir and Elmwood Avenues, continue onto Elmwood Avenue, right onto Roger Williams Avenue, right onto Narragansett Avenue, left onto Reservoir Avenue and then resume regular route.

49 | Camp St/Miriam Hospital

DETOUR ALERT: RIPTA will detour Route 49 beginning Monday, May 4, 2020 until further notice due to Camp St. closing

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Doyle Ave., turn right onto North Main St., and then resume regular route. Inbound trips will travel the regular route to North Main St., turn left onto Doyle Ave. and then resume regular route.

58 | Mineral Spring/North Providence

DETOUR ALERT: Route 58 is on detour from 7am to 3:30pm due to construction. This detour will remain in place today through December 1, 2020 on weekdays only. Outbound trips will travel regular route to Waterman Ave. and Old County Road, left onto Old County Road, right onto Esmond St. and then resume regular route. Reverse on Inbound.

60 | Providence/Newport

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) to accommodate construction on the Silver Creek Bridge in Bristol. The detour will begin with the first trip of the day on Monday, March 2, 2020 and continue approximately through the end of September 2020. Route 60 Inbound will not serve Hope Street between Chestnut Street and Franklin Street.

The following detour will be in effect beginning March 2, 2020: 

Route 60 (Providence/Newport):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Hope Street, turn right onto Franklin Street, left onto Wood Street, right onto Bayview Avenue, left onto Metacom Avenue, left onto Chestnut Street, right onto Hope Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

DETOUR ALERT: Route 71 is on detour due to construction. Outbound trips will travel regular route to Pawtucket Ave., right onto Sterry St., left onto West Ave., continue onto Main St. and then resume regular route. Reverse on Inbound.

RIPTA to Detour Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/East Side) Every Friday and Saturday to Accommodate Outdoor Dining on Federal Hill June 19, 2020 through October 2020

06/19/2020 – 10/31/2020

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 92 every Friday and Saturday from 3:30pm to Midnight to accommodate outdoor dining on Federal Hill.  The detour will begin Friday, June 19, 2020 and last through October of this year.  Atwells Avenue will be closed from Bradford Street to Knight Street.

The following detour will be in effect every Friday and Saturday from 3:30pm through Midnight beginning Friday, June 19, 2020:

Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/East Side):

Westbound trips will travel the regular route to the Bus Stop D, then turn right onto Dorrance St., left onto West Exchange St., right onto Dean St., left onto Kinsley Ave., left onto Eagle St., right onto Atwells Ave. and then resume regular route.

Eastbound trips will travel the regular route to Atwells Ave. and Eagle St., left onto Eagle St., right onto Kinsley Ave., right onto Dean St., left onto West Exchange St., right onto Service Rd., right onto Sabin St., left onto Empire St., left onto Fountain St. and then resume regular route.

R Line | Broad/North Main

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Southbound trips on the R-Line (Broad/North Main) to accommodate construction on the Main Street Bridge over I-95 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is replacing bridge joints, repairing the deck, sidewalks and railings, and repaving the bridge as part of other infrastructure work in the Pawtucket and Providence area.

The detour will begin on Thursday, August 6, 2020 and will last until January 1, 2021.  The R-Line will not serve bus stops on Main Street between Quincy Avenue and Slater Street.   

The detour will be as follows:  

R-Line (Broad/North Main):

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Main Street and Quincy Avenue, right onto Quincy Avenue, left onto Slater Street, right onto Main Street and then resume regular route.

Northbound trips will travel the regular route.
